Wolverine Weekly Update

Wolverine Weekly
March 22, 2026

Last week’s blizzard certainly made travel and school challenging for everyone. We hope you are all dug out and back to normal! A huge thank you goes out to all of the plow drivers and community members who worked tirelessly to keep everyone safe—we truly appreciate it.

We’re excited to have some fun events coming up this week! Our elementary dance for students in grades K–5 will be held on Tuesday, March 24th, from 3:00–5:00 PM in the Multi-Use Room. We hope our students enjoy a great afternoon of dancing and fun with friends!

Due to the recent weather disruptions, the 3rd marking period has been extended and will now end on March 27th. Please encourage your student to check in with their teachers, make sure all assignments are submitted, and ask for help if needed.

There will be an Elementary Cheer Camp for students in Grade K-5 Friday, April 10 from 3:15-5:00, Saturday, April 11 from 10:00-1:00 and Monday, April 13 from 3:15-5:00 who would be interested in performing at the Fuzz Buster basketball game on Wednesday, April 15 at 6:00 p.m. Forms should have been handed out last Friday, they are due back today (at the very latest tomorrow).
Spring Break will begin on Monday, March 30th, through Friday, April 3rd, with classes resuming on Monday, April 6th. We hope this time provides a chance for rest, relaxation, and time with family.

We are incredibly proud of our high school robotics team, who competed in Traverse City this past weekend. They were selected for the 6th alliance in the finals and earned the Innovation and Control Award—an outstanding accomplishment! Congratulations to all of the students for their hard work and dedication, and thank you to the mentors and sponsors who make this program possible. Their next competition will be held in Escanaba from April 9–11th—good luck, team!

State testing is quickly approaching. Students in grades 3–11 will participate in required state assessments. Students in grades 8–11 will take the PSAT/SAT on April 14th, 11th graders will complete the WIN Career Readiness Assessment on April 21st, and students in grades 8 and 11 will take the MSTEP on April 28th. Teachers will communicate specific testing schedules. Please help your student be successful by ensuring they are present, well-rested, and have eaten a good breakfast. As always, free breakfast is available at school each morning.

Our golf, softball, baseball, and track teams continue to work hard and stay dedicated, even though the snow is slowing down outdoor practices. We appreciate their perseverance and commitment!

Thank you for your continued support of our students and staff. We are grateful for our school community and all you do. Wishing you a wonderful Spring Break and a happy Easter!

Warm regards,
Earlene
